Imaging
The Veterinary Specialty Hospital has put together one of the most comprehensive and advanced imaging centers in the world. Our philosophy is to enhance overall patient care by equipping skilled practitioners with advanced, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment. Recently the Radiology department added two state-of-the-art, fully digital radiology and fluoroscopy systems. These include digital subtraction radiography to facilitate invasive radiology techniques. We also recently upgraded the nuclear medicine department with a Toshiba GCA SPECT gamma camera that will improve resolution on bone, portal, thyroid, and renal profusion scans. The in-house magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system has been upgraded to a 1 Tesla Siemens Magnetom Impact Expert scanner. This MRI speeds acquisition times and improves resolution on neurologic and soft tissue imaging. Finally, we have added an in-house Siemens Plus 4 Power Spiral CT scanner. This high-resolution scanner is used for radiation planning, orthopedic, neurologic, and oncologic studies.
