This is a satellite facility of the UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Please call UC DAVIS at (858) 875-7505 for additional information and to schedule a consultation.
UC Davis cardiologists provide compassionate, expert care to pets with heart conditions. Services include comprehensive diagnosis and management of all types of cardiovascular problems, including congenital and acquired heart diseases, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, and much more.
While some cardiac conditions may be serious, many heart diseases are manageable on an outpatient basis and allow for a good quality of life. Early diagnosis and effective treatment will increase your pet’s opportunity to live a normal life.
Pets that exhibit any of the following symptoms may benefit from a cardiac evaluation:
Heart murmur
Shortness of breath or breathing problems
Chronic cough
Heart arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat)
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Congenital heart defects
Fainting
Fluid accumulation in the chest or abdomen
Exercise intolerance
Pets at risk for anesthesia may also be evaluated by the cardiologist to develop the most appropriate treatment plan.
