About
Dr. Abby Foust is originally from Florida where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and residency training at the University of Florida. After earning her degree and becoming a Diplomate of the American College Veterinary Dermatology in 2007, she joined MedVet in Columbus, Ohio where she spent the last 10 years providing compassionate care to patients with chronic skin disease. Dr. Foust is excited to join the growing dermatology department at VSH.
Although she loves all aspects of skin disease she has a particular interest in allergic disease, otitis, autoimmune disease, and bacterial and fungal infections. She enjoys collaborating with other specialists to offer clients cutting edge diagnostics and therapeutics, including intradermal allergy testing and video-otoscopy.
Dr. Foust’s work has been published in Veterinary Dermatology and Veterinary Parasitology. She has lectured on veterinary dermatologic topics such as atopy, dietary hyper‑sensitivity, Apoquel, cyclosporine, Cytopoint, otitis media, dermatophytosis, and diseases of the claw. Dr. Foust has also conducted award-winning research on feline dermatophytosis.
When not at VSH, Dr. Foust enjoys swimming, hiking, playing softball, gardening, and spending time with her husband and two children. Dr. Foust’s family also includes one dog and two adventuresome cats.
