About

Dr. Alan Coberg was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He moved across the country to attend Cornell University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Dr. Coberg remained in Ithaca to pursue his veterinary training and received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Following veterinary school, Dr. Coberg returned to the West Coast to complete a rotating internship at Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) in Sorrento Valley in 2025. After completing his internship, he remained at VSH to pursue a residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

Dr. Coberg’s professional interests include autoimmune diseases and endocrinopathies. He is passionate about working through complex medical cases and collaborating with pet owners.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Coberg enjoys taking advantage of San Diego’s coastal lifestyle. He can often be found at the beach catching waves, soaking up the sunshine, and exploring the city’s diverse food scene.
