Fun Facts: Ender joined his family during the pandemic, rescued from a shelter in LA when he was just 5 months old. From day one, he decided he was a “velcro dog,” sticking to his mom like glue. While he’s a constant shadow, his affection comes on his terms—he’s all about leaning in for hugs, but don’t expect kisses or cuddles unless you’re ready for some self-esteem damage.
Ender’s personality is a perfect mix of tolerance and goofiness. He’s incredibly patient with all animals, though he has a special fondness for chasing birds on walks. His cat brother might not return the love, but Ender doesn’t mind—he’s also been a stellar big brother to several foster dogs. His derpy charm shines through in his favorite game, hide-and-seek, and his surprising knack for catching even the toughest throws. (His human dad is determined to make him the star of Airbud: Football Edition.)
Though Ender is well-trained and listens like a champ, he has a rebellious streak when it comes to unattended food—he’ll steal it without a second thought, no matter the consequences. His early years were a whirlwind of accidents and ailments, keeping his mom on her toes, but that only deepened her empathy for pet parents. Now, Ender’s ready to use his lovable quirks and resilient spirit to help save lives—because he knows firsthand how much love a dog can give, even when they’re a little chaotic.
Saves:
Ender performed his first donation in early December of 2024. His blood was used to treat anemia in another dog with chronic kidney disease. Thanks to Ender, the patient could go home and continue care through UC Davis Nephrology Department.
