A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, Dr. Pike has undergone broad training leading to clinical interests in both orthopedic and soft tissue surgery. His soft tissue interests include reconstructive surgery and surgical oncology. Orthopedic interests include arthroscopy, joint preservation and joint reconstruction. Dr. Pike has over 12 years of board-certified experience in Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy and Total Hip Arthroplasty. He is a member of the Veterinary Orthopedic Society and a council member of the Association for Veterinary Orthopedic Research and Education.
Dr. Pike is a graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, Canada (1996), where he obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Following two years of general practice, Dr. Pike completed internships in medicine / surgery at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group, Ventura, California (1999) and anesthesia / critical care at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine, North Grafton, Massachusetts (2000). He completed his residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University/Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts (2003) and obtained board certification in 2004.
Dr. Pike is an invited laboratory instructor and guest lecturer for the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the Veterinary Arthrology and Arthroscopy Association and the American Animal Hospital Association. He is a reviewer for several peer-reviewed veterinary journals and has authored and co-authored book chapters, manuscripts and veterinary textbooks.
