Fun Facts: Riptide joined our donor program the day after his birthday! He and his mom’s are avid supporters of veterinary transfusion medicine. Riptide looks so serious in his picture, but he has a happy go lucky personality and prances through the hospital every time he comes to donate blood. He looks up to his big brother, Dutchman, a fellow blood donor and makes sure we are taking good care of Mackerel during their exams.

Saves: Riptide has donated four times this year and he’s made a difference in the lives of five other dogs. One unit of Riptide’s blood went to a patient with liver disease. The proteins and clotting factors in Riptide’s plasma helped supplement what the patient’s liver could not produce.
