Fire, an 8 year old Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, was hospitalized for immune mediated hemolytic anemia, a disease that causes a patient’s immune system to attack and destroy its own red blood cells. After his transfusion, Fire is doing well and is still getting treated by the Internal Medicine service at VSH.
