About

Dr. Trisha Oura grew up in New Hampshire and attended the University of New Hampshire for her undergraduate degree. Following a year abroad in Australia and externships at the Alaska SeaLife Center and the Caldwell Zoo, she pursued veterinary training at Tufts University, graduating in 2008 with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She went on to complete a rotating small animal internship, diagnostic imaging residency, and post-doc teaching position at North Carolina State University. She became board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiologists in 2012.

Since that time, Dr. Oura has worked in a variety of radiology fields including telemedicine, private practice, and most recently, as Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Imaging at Tufts where she one of the youngest Tufts faculty to ever receive the Zoetis Distinguished Teaching Award. Dr. Oura has particular interests in the science of teaching and community outreach. Although she loves all imaging modalities, she especially enjoys CT and radiography.

When not at work, Dr. Oura enjoys being at the beach with her young family, swimming and cycling. A former SCUBA divemaster, Dr. Oura is looking forward to exploring local dive sites in the San Diego area!
